I watched this tutorial, and halfway through he teaches you to cut a hole in the object, reducing drawn Opacity to 0%.
I want to export the model with the hole in my mesh, very similar to the object he created, but when opening the file after exporting, the hole is not there.
I just want to do whatever it takes to make my objects hollow, so textures can be drawn inside and out.
Even doing that without punching a hole would be cool, too.

He did not create a hole in the mesh - he just created an opacity map to make the texture clear at that point.
Try exporting as Collada (.dae) and ensure you have included the textures - one of which will be opacity

When I exported it, I just clicked Export and usually all textures go with it. If I need to do that manually, how would I?

When you click 3D export you get a choice of formats - which did you use

Hi
I think I have found a problem - but it would be good if you could confirm you are seeing the same.
If I export to obj format - the file is saved along with the opacity map
However - if I import to CC2018 then that opacity map is ignored. Importing the same object to CC2017 results in the opacity material being applied correctly.
So the problem I am seeing is on Import not Export

Hi
I could not replicate that .
I exported as Collada (.dae) and got the files below
Opening them in a new document showed the opacity correctly

Hmm. I'm opening it in a 3rd party program...
That may be the problem.

Include Textures IS clicked when exporting everything I export, by the way
