Hi, I'm having a problem importing .MOV files I took with my new iPhone 8 to my desktop, using iPhoto.

iPhoto says it is "Unreadable File", and "unrecognized format". Can anyone help?

MP4 is a better all around file type for video.   You could use Handbrake to convert your MOV files to MP4.
