Hello Adobe team!
I'm just wondering if there's an update on when you will be supporting Canon's .CRM Raw light codec in Premiere for the Canon c200?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Michael Hardinge
Hi all,
Premiere Pro CC (12.1) brings support for the Canon C200 camera. As mentioned by Manish above, you also have access to the Canon Cinema RAW Light Source Settings in the Effect Controls panel.
Thanks for your patience!
Happy editing

That would be something for the Product Support staff to see if they can get an answer for ...
RameezKhan or someone?

Hey Michael,
The support for Canon Cinema Raw Light will be added in a future release. I don't know the specific date yet!
Thanks,
Rameez

Any chance we could get an update on the timline for this? Are we looking at next year?

It is rare for the Adobe apps to give timelines out on updates. I hope Rameez can get us something better, but ... maybe not.

I will say, and I know you are working on it, but this should have been done. What made Premiere great 5 years ago was that it was first on the market to really take in all different types of footage. That is what really won people over from Final Cut. And now you are way behind Da Vinic in so many ways. I really think you guy seem so focus on the wrong issues sometimes.

They sure made sure to add support for HEIF and HEVC; which probably makes this all the more frustrating for me. Like you said, Adobe used to be on the bleeding edge of supporting all kinds of crazy video formats - now not so much

Hello Rameez
Is anyone doing anything to answer our concerns, other than "its in a future release"?? How about an estimate???
Copy link to clipboard

Adobe never gives an estimate until they're within days of dropping a release ... and that's been rare. Even if Rameez knows a predicted date, I doubt he'd be permitted to say anything. They've made it clear that they feel as a publicly traded company releasing such information is not advisable.
So ... that's the pattern of the company. One of those things where it's a pain, but ... ain't changing.

Ditto, I'd love to see this added sooner than later. Canon's Cinema RAW Development is not the best to work with

Opening this thread up again. Please Adobe. This workflow is awful. Especially for PC users. We need an update!!

No kidding. I thought the RawLite was gonna be a data management problem. Well, it's nothing compared to working with DPX and ProRes 4444.

Not having the option to export to ProRes from Canon Raw Light Development on PC is literally a nightmare. Just work natively already!!
