I'm starting to develop Adobe Extensions and like to know, if it's possible to write scripts to Character Animator, as I'm doing for AE.

Officially - unfortunately no, not yet. But if you dig into the application files, you can see that all the behaviors are written in javascript. Eventually we plan to document these and open them up for everyone to add to, similar to AE.

Any news on this?
Specifically, adding CEP support for Character Animator.
It will be extremely valuable to let the community develop some much needed productivity improvements that are not prioritized by the dev team. For example arm recording blazingly fast with the keyboard, build an improved trigger system that lets assign key combinations to triggers so that there won't be a hard limit of 36 keyboard triggers, control the blend time for ctrl+b and more...
