Print to pdf from Photoshop 18

Error message:

"Photoshop can not print this document because the document is too large (2.17G)

The maximum amount of data that can be spooled to a PostScript printer is 2 GB."

How do I resolve this? I have performed this multiple times.

Why print to PDF? Generally thought a bad way to make PDF from Photoshop.
