I have the "all new lightroom cc" with quite a different interface as the desktop classic. I notice a lot of key commands aren't the same and there is less funcionality?? I can't figure out how to batch process a bunch of images. Can anyone help?

You cannot batch process images in Lightroom CC. You need the actual update to Lightroom CC 2015, which is called Lightroom Classic now. Lightroom CC is more or less aport of the mobile Lightroom to desktop operating systems and it misses almost all the features you expect in Lightroom. So if you need those features, stick to Lightroom Classic.
