How can I on my Ipad or Ipad Pro using Adobe Draw fill elements with colour of a paper made drawing that I imported from my scanner?

Or do I need another app?

If I make a new drawing in Adobe Draw

I can fill closed parts of a drawing fill with colour

How can I do this in a exitsting drawing?

Who can help me?

Frank.

I was wondering if you were referring to a file brought into the app. Unfortunately files/images brought into an Image Layer in Draw are not editable. About the only thing you could do is recreate the shape on a layer above it and fill that.

The ability to import and edit .ai and .psd files in Draw and Sketch is something the drawing teams are currently considering.

Hi Frank.

Are you using the most recent version (4.5) of Draw? If so, you can fill an entire Draw Layer with color by creating a new Draw Layer and then long-pressing on the canvas to fill the layer with the color of whatever brush you have selected.

You can also fill any closed shape the same way. Just press-and-hold inside the shape.

Please let me know if I've misunderstood what you're trying/wanting to do.

Sue.

Sue,

     thank you for your answer

but it doesn't solve my problem

     Indeed

I can fill new layers or just made objects

but i cannot fill any closed part of an imported drawing that I made before

I tried several extensions to import my scan,

     but I see always a 'bucket with a cross'-symbol

when I'm trying to fill a part with press and hold

hope you or anyone else can solve this specific problem

Thank you for your clear answer.

I'm looking nu for a smart way to import a drawing from scan with an extension that Adobe Draw will  accept

But I also have to find a way to import it ...first save it (publish it) in Behance for example?

But I do not know how to open it than in Adobe Draw

Can you help me?

You could try vectoring the image first by taking it into Adobe Capture app. Then you should be able to open it in Adobe Draw from there? It needs to be on a sketch layer for the color fill to work. Make sure it's not on an Image layer. Hope this helps 🙂

Thank you for your answer

But this solution will not solve my problem

Because,  if I take my scanned drawing into Adobe Capture

then I lose to much detail in the fine lines that are typical for my work

I search for an entry in Adobe Draw or an extension

for my scanned drawing so that I can fill specific parts of my drawing with colours bij press-and-hold

who can help me?

Thank you for your answer

I have Illustrator - an old version: CS5

But I'm trying what I can do with my new I-Pad pro

and I expected that it would be easy

to do things in Draw or in another app on the Ipad pro

when I'm not at home

but maybe I did expect to much from Adobe ...
