Another day another problem with CC2018...
Anyone found a workaround? Is this a known problem?

OK,  install a driver for a usb printer or select one of the printers that came installed on the system that is not a network printer. Make that the default.

Then when you are ready to printer in photoshop choose the network printer.

I think what happens is when you bring up the print dialog box and the network printer is not ready, then the printer driver crashes. Just my guess. I know this is a work around, assuming it still works.

Just for giggles, try sending a test page from a word processor

There use to be a problem with network printers. Try a direct connection printer (USB instead of Ethernet).

This is hardly a solution though...
We are talking full tower computer here on a different floor and printer is a behemoth Canon weighing close to 200 lbs

Just for giggles, try sending a test page from a word processor to the network printer just before trying photoshop, see if that works. Normally a network printer goes to sleep after so many seconds or minutes.
