Hi - sorry if this has been asked and answered before, I tried looking couldn't find the answer.
I have a bit of a thing for patterns and brushes, and often, high quality/pixel sized brushes and patterns. The problem I have is that when my pattern or brush PSP file in the CS6 Data folder gets too large, Photoshop will crash as soon as the main window opens and the only way to launch it is to move/delete the offending file and go back to the default. I can't find an exact limit though. More frustrating is that what works fine for several days, will refuse to start on some random point in the future, even with no changes to any of the preset libraries. Is there a fixed number of items that are guaranteed to be ok? or a file size? It's not a specific brush or pattern that is the issues because I've tried setting them up with just the latest items and as always, it's fine until I add enough to reach the nebulous "limit" on file size.

Sorry - thanks for your patience.
These are the error details I could find in the reliability monitor: When it crashes, it always comes up with two errors and hence, two error reports. Both say the same thing onscreen though.

StackHash Problems normally seem to be cause by Photoshop when it uses some system function. Make sure all your hardware device drivers are up to date.

Thanks for that - I've done that, made sure that I'm using the correct, up to date drivers, but no dice. It still wants to crash whenever the various preset assets get over a certain total size - I added some extra contours and bingo, that promptly reduced how much I could keep in the patterns/brushes and still have it start up as well. Very frustrating... I know I can swap things in and out as I use them (or just remember to delete them afterwards).if nothing else can be done, but it's a real nuisance and I'm not all that keen to move to the subscription model (I'm chronically ill, not able to work right now, I simply can't afford it).
