1. Re: cs3 file to cs4 - wont compile correctly
nrajbhan Dec 4, 2008 4:42 PM (in response to Damon Edwards)Hi,
You might be encountering this issue - http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=kb405257&sliceId=1.
Have you installed the update from this link - http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html?
Thanks,
Nivesh -
2. Re: cs3 file to cs4 - wont compile correctly
Damon Edwards Dec 8, 2008 1:40 PM (in response to Damon Edwards)Hey Nivesh, I thought you may have been my savior, but it appears no ;), not yet. I downloaded and installed the update, and see it took affect by the "Adobe AIR 1.5" in the publish settings. Yet, I still get an incorrectly compiled application. My document class is only about 600 lines, the FLA is about 2mb and a correctly compiled SWF is about 140kb, while the incorrectly compiled SWF is only 57kb. I don't know if you can, but I could zip the file and email it to you, or if you have any other possible roads I could travel, I'd be grateful for any help.
Thanks -
3. Re: cs3 file to cs4 - wont compile correctly
Damon Edwards Dec 9, 2008 2:52 PM (in response to Damon Edwards)Ok, huge thanks to Nivesh Rajbhandari for helping me figure this out. It turns out, the ComponentShim wasn't the correct one, and was causing the compiler problem described above. It was a CS3 ComponentShim that wasn't compiling correctly in CS4. Is this happening for everyone? I couldn't say, and would assume no since I haven't come across the same issue other than a post on another forum. So, all I had to do was create a new file, drag a component onto the stage, and copy the ComponentShim from the "Component Assets"-->"_private" into my older file, select "Replace" and it compiled like a champ.
Thanks again!
