1. Re: External linking with dynamic menus
Zak Williamson (Adobe) May 8, 2012 4:39 PM (in response to 5iveMEDIA)Create a dummy page in Plan view where you want the external link to appear in your menu, then right+click on the page to get the Context menu and from the "Menu Options" item choose "Include Page without Hyperlink". Then go to the menu item in your menu and use the Hyperlink control in the Control panel to assign the external URL.

DCarpenter84 Nov 13, 2012 6:03 AM (in response to Zak Williamson (Adobe))Is this answer still correct? For some reason after the latest Muse Update, the hyperlink box is greyed out when you try this method. Can you make another suggestion how to assign external links to your main navigation? Thank you!

agm 123 Nov 13, 2012 7:41 AM (in response to DCarpenter84)That is strange... the method above should work.... a work around is to create a transparent box ontop of you menu item and attach a hyperlink to the box.

Abhishek Maurya Nov 16, 2012 3:00 AM (in response to agm 123)This is a small video demonstrating what Zak has mentioned above, http://project02.businesscatalyst.com/Jing/2012-11-16_1627.swf
Could you please a share screen shot of how the hyperlink option looks like after you follow the same steps?

5. Re: External linking with dynamic menus
WeberBob Jul 29, 2013 10:01 AM (in response to Zak Williamson (Adobe))OK, so how do I do this with a submenu item? I have a top level menu item "Our Sites" which drops down a list of sites to which I want the sub menu items to link. (Opening in a new window.) The site has well over 100 pages and I don't relish the idea of building a complete manual menu.
Thanks,
~Bob

kenpool Aug 7, 2013 10:38 AM (in response to Abhishek Maurya)I'm having difficulty adding external links to my dynamic menu, too. I followed the process shown in the link but when I get to the last step, there simply is no hyperlink option; nothing between the Effects control and the anchor button. One difference is that the selection box around my menu item is a dashed green line as opposed to the solid blue line shown in the video. Thanks.

7. Re: External linking with dynamic menus
Vinayak_Gupta Aug 7, 2013 10:59 AM (in response to kenpool)Sounds like its a default menu that you're trying to link to an external URL. You need to use a Manual menu type in order to be able to Hyperlink it. Also, the green selection box just means that the menu is in a Layer with the color option set as green.
Thanks,
Vinayak

Additus Feb 22, 2014 12:53 PM (in response to Lucky:))I have made this menu bar manual but can´t put in an external url to the manually typed menu item because the field is dimmed out. Why?
