I am new to Premiere Pro so sorry if this is an easy fix. I uploaded video from a DV camera just using windows uploader to the computer in avi format. I can play the video just fine in media player or other players but when I try to edit it in Premiere Pro 5.5 everyone sounds like chipmunks and there is a echo at about a 1 second delay. I have slowed down the audio to 70% and that seems to have helped the pitch issues but I still have the echo. Any ideas on how I fix this?
For starters, uploading means to transfer from a local computer to a remote computer, such as over the Internet. The common term for what you're trying to do is 'capture'.
Secondly, delete all the media and start again, this time using Premiere Pro's capture utility.
