AE6.0 Refuses to render NOT PROD. READY

    Trevorco Level 1

I am so disappointed in this update. What a poor effort it represents.

Everything in my current project renders to preview@half res.

Without problem. Well if you ignore the "Frame wasn't rendered due to lack of RAM" error the crops up occasionally.

Switch to full res and no go.

Multi processing freaks out and the error message claim is that I am out of RAM.

That's funny I have 48GB of RAM with the maximum of 3GB applied to 12 cores.

If it is true that there isn't enough RAM then why can't I set to 4GB then.

      WIN7 users can.

Saved the file out to v5.5 and rendered the whole project without issue.

A whole lot of plug-ins don't work this is just really poor work Adobe.

AE 6.0 is not production ready stay away from it.

Forget about the raytracing engine untill version 7.5.

When are the patches due out?

I wouldn't go that far, but there are certainly some not so minor issues. It's the worst and least bug-free version of AE I've seen in a long time...

Forget about the raytracing engine untill version 7.5.

I am also having major issues with latency in the program and even the interface. Every move I make is delayed, selecting pretty much anything is delayed. It's pretty much unusable and I am now back to 5.5.

              township_ron,

Please start a new thread to discuss your UI latency issues. That's a different subjec tthan the subject of this thread, which is about rendering.

                @township_ron

                Todd I disagree.

I believe that Ron is stating why he agrees the AE CS6 is not production ready.

This being the case then his comments are on thread.

I refer you to "It's pretty much unusable and now I am back on 5.5"

I find it laughable that rather than address the thread itself you choose to comment a repondants acuracy in thread choice.

Maybe your time might be better spem addressing AE6.0 bugs and problems rather than nit picking legitimate comments.

I too am back on 5.5 because I can't aford the time cost in working with non-production ready software.

The fact that AE6.0 can't render at full resolution in all cases is crazy.

That fact that you don't address this issue in your comment is very disappointing.

                  Trevorco,

I can understand the frustration but Todd is right when it comes to having @township_ron start another thread.  On a public forum it is much easier to track a customer issues if it is one issue/subject much like a bug tracking database.  Singularity makes it a lot easier for the support/product team to deconstruct what happened.  The more related/tractable information they have on a particular issue, the easier it is for them to isolate the problem.

What kind of kind of hardware you have (Mac/PC, AMD/NVIDIA video card, ram CPU, disk, etc., OS version)

version of the software you are using

what you are trying to do?  (repro steps)

what you expected to see, what actually happened.

were you running an Anti-Virus Program, if so which one.

                  etc..

                      @Trevorco,

Your post:  program says out of memory & can't render.

township_ron:  latency in the program and even the interface.

Perhaps I am missing it, where is the commonality?

I quote back at you "It's pretty much unusable and now I am back on 5.5"

Referrring to its not qualifying as "production Ready"

If you are just going to argue sematics then please don't bother.

I would rather a bug fixing patch for my money thank you.

@Trevorco:  so we are in agreement then, you did good job in reporting your issue and we agree that todd was correct on having township_ron should open up a new post talking about his user scenario?
