A beep is not normal either.
How are you executing the script? From the Scripts panel? From the ExtendScript Toolkit?
Which script are you trying, precisely? It's no good to say "all the scripts," be specific.
I have tried a number of different scripts - some that were written for us and some that were in the examples that came with the applicaiton - in all cases, I just get a beep when I try to run the script. Applescripts run OK.
I have found that if the scripts are in the Applicaiton scripts folder, they run OK; if they are in the User scripts folder, they don't.
Giving specific examples is what leads to solutions.
While it does not sound like a specific script is the problem here, it is a burden to try to assist you if you cannot answer direct questions.
I recall someone else having this problem a month or two ago in the main forum. I don't believe a resolution was reached.
If you could tell us the specific script, I could ask you some diagnostic questions like whether the problem is specific to a user account, and whether you have trashed your prefrences. But since you can't, I can't ask you those questions.
Copy the example AlignToPage.jsx script from the Samples folder in the Applicaiton scripts folder into the :User scripts folder.
Then try to run AlignToPage.jsx
It just beeps
You've installed the Java Support files, right? They are not installed by default in 10.7.
Yes, everything required is installed. I can run the scripts from the Application folder so I will just have to go with that as I have a job to get done!!!!!
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Is specific to a user account, have you tried a different account?
Have you trashed your prefrences?
My experience is similar, although I haven't been running any Applescripts and a restart doesn't solve the problem. I've tried everything suggested by everybody and nothing fixes it The only solution is to not use the User folder at all and just put the scripts into the Applicaiton scripts folder.
