thanks very much! .Is there a list for CS6? Any HP suggestions?
Don't know about HP, but basically limit your search to:
- i7 quad core with HT (1155 socket)
- 8+ GB memory, preferably 16 GB
- nVidia 1+ GB VRAM CUDA card in the 5xxM range or 6xxM range
- 2 x 7200 RPM hard disks or more
- eSATA and USB3 connections
- 1600x900 or higher monitor resolution, preferably 1920x1080 or higher
Well if you had looked at PPBM5 as suggested you would see only one HP laptop. it is 787th in performance on the list of 860 tested PC's (pretty lousy in other words).
Thanks Bill - I saw that. Just wondering if anyone here used an HP. Thats a great resource you have.
Keep in mind that the Adobe requirements are 'Minimum requirements' and lack realism. They allow you to install the software, but using it effectively is a completely different matter.
Sidebar: It completely escapes me why the following reply in post #1 from Bill was removed:
Your best bet is to go to the experts in video editing and get a customized laptop from ADK. Incidentally unless you want to be terribly disappointed and wait forever to get anything done do not use Adobe's minimum requirements. Take a look at PPBM5 test results and the first thing you should do is select the "Computer type" Tab and select "Laptops" and see 53 test reports and see how they rank. Core 2 Duo is now in the antique class. Notice that a few dual core units appear at the very bottom of the list. CS6 is very demanding Also notice that two disk drives (the second drive should be a full speed 7200 rpm drive) are the absolute minimum
yeah--why was that removed??? I marked that it was correct and helpful I believe, Thanks everyone for your comments--greatly appreciated! I love that tool that was posted, its great. ANd yeah-I just pasted the requirements from Adobe. Looking for student laptops.
