Android Device Not Recognized

I just purchased a ARNOVA 7G2 Android tablet.  I installed the ADE onto my computer, downloaded a textbook for my class I'm taking.  I transfered the pdf file to my tablet, and can't open the file.  I followed the instructions to make the tablet recognized as an authorized device, but it is never recognized by ADE. It's as though ADE doesn't see my tablet.  My ARNOVA 7G2 is listed as a supported device on the Adobe website.  How can I make ADE recognize my tablet?

It's an OS compatibility issue. The software on your device that handles

ebooks is supported, not the device itself. ADE as a rule does not support

Android devices directly, so you can download the ebooks to your computer

using ADE, but you'll have to transfer them to your tablet using other

software. I'd suggest utility copy programs (not knowing whether or not

you're Windows or MAC).

I'm using Windows as my OS.  Which utility copy program do you recommend?

Well I managed to fix the problem myself without Adobe's help.  I downloaded Aldiko from the Amazon Appstore.  When I attempted to open the file the first time, the program prompted me for my ADE ID and passord, which was accepted and the book opened successfully.

I'm rather surprised no one from Adobe answered my query, thanks Frustrated in Az for the tips and I'm also surprised that the Adobe Reader I downloaded to my tablet didn't support ADE.

You're welcome for the tips.

Adobe Reader is different from Adobe Digital editions, and is not intended

to do the same job. Most Adobe software is not built for an Android OS. I

would be surprised if Reader runs under an Android OS - and your comment

says it doesn't...
