    Uninstalling and reinstalling

Hi, I have Acrobat X trial and have now purchased a subscription to the CC. I uninstalled Acrobat correctly, but the app manager still thinks it's installed. Have I missed an important file somewhere or is there another trick to this.

How did you uninstall the trial?  Are you able to reinstall the trial?  You will need to launch one of the other Creative Apps before launching Adobe Acrobat to remove the trial limitation.

Thanks Jeff, but no good. I downloaded the cloud version to try out. I then used the uninstaller to get rid of it before trying to download my subscription version. I'm on a Mac by the way and Adobe doesn't let you download Acrobat on the Mac unless it's through subscription now. The application manager still says it's installed on my system. But I have completely removed it including all caches/preferences. Now I am left with the fact that I don't have any Acrobat on my system and I can't download it. Can you help a little more?

Certainly Mike.  I would recommend completing all of the following steps to increase the probability that Adobe Acrobat will install successfully.

              1. Go to Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers and remove all Adobe applications utilizing the uninstallers
              2. Run Cleaner tool to verify there is no remaining components - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
              3. Reboot in root user and in safe boot mode
              4. Reinstall the Adobe Application Manager from https://creative.adobe.com/
              5. Download and install one of the other Creative products besides Acrobat
              6. Download and install Acrobat
              7. Launch the other Creative product
              8. Launch Acrobat

Not all of these steps maybe necessary, for example it may not be necessary to be in Safe Boot and logged in as Root, but if you complete all of these steps it does increase your probability of a successful installation.  If you do end up skipping a step and you still continue to have difficulties then I would highly recommend completeing all of the steps in their entirety.

Please let me know if you have any questions on how to perform any of these steps.  I can find you links from Apple's site on how to log into Safe Boot and Root user if you are not familiar with the process.
