AE CS6 doesnt recognize my ATI Radeon HD 6850 video card GPU

    Corrado Giuliani

As in the title, it keeps me saying GPU is not enabled while OpenGL 4.1 is supported. Any suggestions?

What exactly does it say? Provide a screenshot of your OpenGL preferences and also your exact system specs. Also have you updated your graphics driver?

The video driver should be correctly updated, i launched just yesterday a quick AMD app to do that.

I dont get what screenshot you want, i dont have any OpenGL preferences in Video Card settings, but i do have put below the screenshot of AE OpenGL preferences, evenif the first part is in Italian.

By the way the productor's specs formy card are (from the site):

What, exactly, is your issue? You showed a screenshot, but I don't know what your question is. The title of your thread says that After Effects doesn't recognize your GPU, but your screenshot shows that it does recognize it and is correctly reporting on such things as its OpenGL capabilities.

Are you thinking that your card should be providing the GPU-accelerated ray-traced 3D renderer? If so, then you need to read this:

I was just wondering if my card should provide GPU-accelerated ray traced 3d rendering. In the list card i see that Radeon HD-6850 is not supported and i now understand why it renders so slowly.

By the way this is very disappointing, i was evaluating the trial copy and i was very happy of the new features the company added, but this problem , if cannote be fixed , will quite certainly stop me in advancing in the buying procedure.

So, what your page is telling me (and what most of your specifications pages tell me) is that you pretty much only support NVIDIA cards?

You do realise, that this is a breach of competition laws. You are intentionally preventing owners of Radeon and FirePro cards from getting similar productivity out of your products.

What is stopping you taking advantage of AMD technologies and stream processing?
You're excluding a lot of people by not doing so.
