Export trimmed portions of a project

In Premier Elements 10

Is it possible to export a trimmed video segment of a project from one project to another?

From what I can understand from the help file, the save work area bar only has to be checked and the trimmed video selected, however it is still rendering the entire 7mins, rather than the 30 secs I wish.

You set the WorkAreaBar to cover the segment you want to export. Using Alt+[ and Alt+] is the easiest way to position the Start and End segments of the clip.

Then, when exporting, you select the 'Use WorkAreaBar' checkbox. I think it is this second step you are missing.

It was actually the first option where I was going wrong, I was using the selection tool and thought I had told it what I wanted.

That WAB (Work Area Bar) has quite a few uses and features, and many never fully explore it.

This ARTICLE goes into more detail, and also outlines some of those other uses. Note: the screen-caps are getting a bit long-in-the-tooth, and Neale's are prettier, and more current.
