Anybody got an idea? I really would like to get this working will my phone is not ringing. Need to recreate a job that is missing.
Thought OBT (Our Buddy Todd) might have some idea.
Did the Cuda update mentioned in the 3D thread, did permissions repair, and replaced dynamiclinkmanager.app and dynamiclinkmediaserver with ones from the install pkg.
Did not help.
BTW, AE5 launches fine.
This is a Mid 2010 MacBook Pro/17"/Nvidia 330m/i7/8gb ram. I am at 1680x1050.
Y'all be cool:-)
So I called Adobe about this. Got Jeet on the phone who did not seem to know much. He put me on hold repeatedly to check his resources. I did support for MS so I know how it goes. We deleted some prefs with no success. I logged in as root and did get a different error and explained to him it normailly just crashes under root with no error.
He came back after another hold and started giving the party line about 3rd party plugins and was going to give up. I asked him if Adobe had a troubleshooting tool for this and he again gave the party line about not supporting 3rd party plugins. I would at least expect Adobe to tell me how to troubleshoot their product. We did at MS. While I was on hold waiting for a supervisor, I decided to remove some Photoshop plugins that were working with Photoshop CS6. As it turns out the issue was the ICOFormat.plugin . Again this plugin is for Photoshop and does work. Also, he had never had me go to the folder where it resided.
I waited about 10 minutes for a supervisor to come to phone and finally gave up. Not good support for a Pro product!
Y'all be cool,
Had the same problem with the ICOFormat.plugin. At first couldn't get it to work with Photoshop CS6, so was putting the plugin in various plugin folders untill it finally worked. Went to open After Effects, crash on start up (dynamiclinkmanager.app). Had forgotten which plugin folders I put the ICOFormat.plugin in, finally found it here: MAC HD> Library>App Support>Adobe>Plug-Ins>CS6>File Formats. Removed it and After Effects loaded! Going to leave the creation of favicons to the development team in future!
dude you saved my life same problems as you!!!
To help the comunity with this strange message I want to give also my feedback.
I have also this problem about Dynamic Link Error with AE Cs6 updated at last version (I am an Creative Cloud Subscriber).
I had also the "ICOFormat.plugin"in the photoshop plugin folder. Deleting it wasn't making any difference and still got the massage and AE just crashed on and on. It turned out that de-actavating the Fnor Pro EXR from the photoshop plug in folder, AE finally got to work again.
I would like to know something more from Adobe about this issue and if they are going to resolve them in the future update of AE.
I'm confused. You disabled ProEXR in the Photoshop plug-ins folder and that fixed a problem with AE?
Yes exactly. I had problem with Pro Exr plug in. Before had some problem with it in the AE plug in directory, then also in the Plug-in directory in Photoshop.
I am using Mac Osx 10.7.5 on iMac 27" core i7.
It should not be possible for anything in the Photoshop plug-ins directory to affect AE. AE doesn't load anything from there.
AE will load Photoshop plug-ins that you put in its own directory. You should not put ProEXR for Photoshop in the After Effects plug-in folder. Use the ProEXR AE plug-in in After Effects along with the OpenEXR, EXtractoR, and IDentifier plug-ins that ship with AE.
I experienced this problem today, AE CS6 crashing on startup with a Dynamic Link related error;
I recently installed the PhotoShop webp file format plugin from here: https://developers.google.com/speed/webp/docs/using
after removing the webp plugin, AE launches normally
