    How do I reinstall Bridge?

    Mary Lou Frost Level 1

I had CS3 and Bridge installed on an iMac running OS 10.4.11

Bridge kept freezing so I unistalled CS3.  When I reinstalled it I didn't get Bridge.

      How do I reinstall Bridge?

Bridge is not a seperate program.  It is a part of photoshop.  So if you installed PS then Bridge is installed.

Look in you program file under Adobe and it should be there.

I am running OS 10.4.11 on an iMac.  I checked in the Applications

folder and Bridge is not there.

I don't know the file hiericy in a Mac but I can guarantee it is part of Photoshop.  If you click on File>browse in Bridge, or perhaps in CS3 just click on the BR icon in Photoshop what do you get?  Nothing?

If  you get nothing, and you can't see in on your computer (do a search) you have a bad install and may have to do it again.

                Hi Mary Lou,

Remember that Bridge will be in its own folder in the Applications folder:

                Nridge_folder.jpg

If it's not there, you have a failed installation.  You must uninstall CS3 and install it again from scratch.

thanks for your comments.  I have done all the checking you recommend.  In the past, Adobe Bridge CS3 has always been visible in the Applications folder.  Not now.

When I go to Photoshop and Select File/Browse, I get nothing.

Way back when I first tried to resolve this problem, I made the mistake of trashing the Bridge folder.  I learned that this was not the way to get rid of a corrupted Bridge so I did a complete uninstall before I did a reinstall.

                  Do I need to reinstall?

I might be wise to uninstall photoshop and run the Adobe Script Clearner to get rid of any unwanted bits of the former Bridge delete process.

Where will I find the Adobe Script Cleaner?

The next chapter!  I uninstalled CS3, I restarted my computer, I downloaded the cleaner tool for the Mac, I mounted it and when I double-clicked to open the tool, nothing opened.  I also tried selecting it and going to File/Open.

Just to make sure, I went to disk utilities and did a repair permissions but there was nothing to repair.

Why might I not be able to open the cleaner tool?

                          More to add.

I went to find the log of the Cleaner tool to see if I could find out what went wrong.  I got this information on the "crash".  Can anyone tell me what it means?

I'm thinking the Adobe folks are going to have to advise on this one.  I hope one of them sees your thread.
