I neglected to say that I downloaded into Adobe Digital Editions. It appears there, and I have in on my nook but that's when it says "user not activated". My grandson has a new Kindle Fire which is a snap to borrow books from the library. I may just chuck the nook for the Kindle as I can't afford to buy books.

Generally, when this happens, it means that the Nook does not think it's
been activated. If you've used the Nook with your computer before, and it
worked, then one of those electrical gremlins may have 'removed the flux
capacitor'.... Try a physical reset of the Nook and see if your user ID
If the Nook is new to you, then it's possible it has not yet been
registered with B&N. Log onto their website and use your Adobe ID to
RE: Kindles.... Yes, they are simple and effective. But Amazon will be
nearly the only source you will have for ebooks. Digital Editions was
built with the idea of being site-independent, and opens up your sources.
