Either film school, just going out and doing it or both, you need hands-on education. Filmmaking is 50% light, 50% sound that when combined, tells a story that people might care about. If you're passionate about it, you'll be fine.

You forgot lenses, primes, tripod, dolly, crane, lights and stands, mics, batteries, bags, raincovers, filters, matte box, green screen, etc. All the standard equipment.
Oh, you also forgot to mention budget. Is it over $ 100K or below, and if so, by how much?

Thanks both responses were helpful I decided I would just focus on producing videos for companies such as making fitness/cooking dvds or commercials I've been working on CS6 but my laptop freezes I want to buy a computer this week just don't know which is suitable or would it be better to have one custom built please let me know what computer is the best
and those cameras are really out of my price range is there something else thats decent for video recording and picture taking below 4K
and also looking at external hard drives to store stock footage please point me to specific products becuase I have no clue where to look I want to get started as soon as possible just need to hear from the experts what equipment is the best.
Also any reccomendations on specific mics, tripod, green/white screens, lightening?
