    An older version of Premiere.

I currently have Adobe Premiere Elements 8 installed on my PC, I am the head editor for a podcast and youtube channel so I do most if not all for the video editing work. Premiere had been working perfectly for almost 7 or so months but recently when I set to edit new video footage taken from the game Portal 2 with the FRAPS program I received the error "This type of file is not supported, or the required codec is missing". However the videos are in AVI and I haven't changed the codecs on my PC since I built it. As far as I am aware I hadn't even installed in since I built it. I was trying to open them in NTCS HD 720P 30fps. The specs of my PC are:

      2 x Galaxy 55NPH8HX4LXZ GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 2GB 192-bit GDDR5

      1 x AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core

ASUS Crosshair V Formula AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD

      2 x G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR

      1 x Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s

      1 x Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit

      3TB External Hard Drive

I ran the update and everything but so far have yet to find the answer to my problem if anyone could help that would be amazing because I cannot get anymore content out until I can fix this issue. Thanks you so much.

      Alex~
