Yeah, just keep practicing. And don't use hold key frames. What else did you expect people to tell you? We all had to learn the tricks of the trade and soem things take time. If you have specific questions, post them, but asking for the "make it pretty" button is not going anywhere...
wait...EXCUSE ME? it was a question
how to make an object animate in...hold and then continue.
how is that not a question and how could you be so rude?
meaning do I have a keyframe, make another keyframe and put it a hold on it and then set another keyframe with the next action?
Please trust I reported you, I cannot imagine how you could be so rude.
make it look pretty? where in that questoin did i ask " how do i make something look pretty?"
I asked a specific question.

Relax, Myl may have had ten or fifteen different questions open at the same time.
To have an object enter a scene, stop, pause and then start again and leave the scene requires 1,2,3,4 keyframes.
1. Postiion one, off screen.
2, Position two.
3, Position two again.
4. Position three, off screen.
To get the third keyframe, just copy and paste keyframe #2. If your object is moving between two and three you must change interp. to linear for those two keyframes.
You do not need hold keyframes, you just need keyframes two and three to be the same.
