How to terminate $.sleep() prematurely in ExtendScript

    Tide House

In the documentation it says that $.sleep() "Checks at 100 millisecond intervals to see whether the sleep should be terminated. This can happen if there is a break request, or the script timeout has expired." Can I send a break request myself?

Is there a way to terminate sleep in the script similar to the setTimeout() and clearTimeout() functions found in browser-based Javascript?
