    Deleting zero byte file

    whatalotofrubbish Community Member

I had a zero byte file on my system and it was the open file. So I filled it with 150 paragraphs of lorem and more and saved it.

Makes no difference, and it will not delete either in DW or in the filing system.

DW is now useless as I cannot do anything with it after 6 months of use (CS 5.5).

Does not give one much confidence in updating to version 6!

Found out how to do it.

      1. Edit preferences to disable dynamic files.

      2. Close Dreamweaver.

      3. You can now use the filing system to delete the file that was a zero Byte file so do it.

      4. Open Dreamweaver.

      5. Load and test run a php file in live view. If it runs reverse line 1 and close DW.

      6. After that restart your computer and all should be well. At least mine seems to be running DW  OK now.
