2. Re: Viewing audio waveform on Source side
Kevin-Monahan May 23, 2012 12:32 PM (in response to danzg)Try toggling Shift+2. That should get you to the footage and waveforms quickly.

danzg May 23, 2012 12:34 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)Not sure what you mean; are you talking about the timeline?

4. Re: Viewing audio waveform on Source side
Kevin-Monahan May 23, 2012 12:41 PM (in response to danzg)No, I thought you were talking about the Source Monitor. Shift+2 toggles footage and waveforms.
If you want to see audio waveforms in the Source monitor from audio in the Timeline, you can open the clip into the Source Monitor and then gang it with the Program monitor.
Is that what you wanted to do?

danzg May 23, 2012 12:51 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)I was talking about the Source Monitor, but Shift-2 does absolutely nothing on my end.
(I reset the keyboard prefs to default CS6)
update: Shift-2 just takes me to the Source Monitor.

Kevin-Monahan May 23, 2012 1:02 PM (in response to danzg)Press Shift+2 twice. Audio Waveforms appear for me.

8. Re: Viewing audio waveform on Source side
shooternz May 23, 2012 2:25 PM (in response to danzg)In early versions one could view the waveform by itself in the Source Monitor by simply clicking on a button ( icon).
When it changed to a menu - view option.... I certainly missed it... and still hope one day we can get a button on the monitor back.
The solution provided will do meantime I guess.
Must say the reallocation of Keyboard shortcuts in CS6 has made a big task and rethink for me!
example: I had the number key 1 -8 allocated to to Toggle Selecting Video Tracks 1-8 and I had Shift/1 -8 allocated to toggle Selecting Audio Tracks 1-8
The other one I am not used to yet is the different functionality PG UP/Dn and the Up/Dn Arrows.
CS6 has also made my Logic KeyBoard redundant. Darn.

You and me both. Even after two weeks, that one still trips me up.

Sorry there were so many changes to the keyboard shortcuts, guys.
Page Up/Page Down is not on a lot of laptops (I know, you can just use the Fn key). It's also the FCP shortcut for next/previous edit and a major request.Hang in there!

11. Re: Viewing audio waveform on Source side
danzg May 23, 2012 6:21 PM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)OK, it sorta works, sometimes ... but I don't get the logic.
What repeating shift+2 seems to do is toggle between the clip in the Source Monitor, and a view of the active (?) clip in the Timeline. I think.
I.e., only under special circumstances does it "seem" to toggle, but it's not really showing the audio from the same Source clip...
Try closing all your timelines, and then see if you can toggle from waveform to video.
Or I'm missing something...

12. Re: Viewing audio waveform on Source side
Kevin-Monahan May 24, 2012 2:53 PM (in response to danzg)It works when you load a single clip into Source. When you start loading other clips into it, it toggles between the other clips. To work around this, choose Close All before loading a new clip. You can map that from the keyboard shortcuts dialog.

Elliott B. Feb 7, 2013 10:49 AM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)This isn't working for me. I choose Close All in the source monitor. Then double click a clip to load it into the source monitor. Then press Shift-2 a few times, and nothing happens.
