Hi all,
I have been trying to use RoboHelp's find & replace tool to insert HTML tags. Evidently it is not possible to insert the "<" and ">" characters?
The task:
We have a text with literature references that look like [123]. All these references should be linked to a certain topic that contains the list of literature.
My idea was to replace [ by <a href="javascript:BSSCPopup('topic.htm');>[ and ] by ]</a>. The result would be that all references are linked via popup.
But the program always inserts HTML masks such as > instead of >.
Any ideas for this?
Robert

Might have to use a FAR tool outside of RH.

Yes, from my experience RH's find and replace needs a little work. You also can't search for spaces.
I would suggest downloading FAR HTML and using it to do your replaces. It is incredibly powerful and "fairly" accurate so long as you get your search strings correct. I use it for making replacements in over 10,000 files (htm and hts), and it works quite well.

Thanks for the help. I used an old shareware tool from InfoRapid right
now but I will also try out FAR HTML you mentioned. It sounds like a
good choice for future use.
