1. Re: Blur Gallery Failure
R_Kelly May 25, 2012 8:00 PM (in response to ageless1)The first thing i would try is resetting the photoshop preferences:
From the help manual:
Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) as you start Photoshop. You are prompted to delete the current settings.
New Preferences files are created the next time you start Photoshop.

R_Kelly May 25, 2012 8:38 PM (in response to ageless1)Usually the common cause is your graphics card drivers.
What operating sytem and make/model of graphics card?
If you on windows it's possible windows "updated" your graphics card driver without you knowing.
You could check on the card makers website and see if you have the newest driver version installed.

R_Kelly May 25, 2012 8:58 PM (in response to ageless1)Another thing to try is setting Photoshop (Edit)>Preferences>Performance>Advanced Settings(under Use graphics processor) to Basic
and see if that makes a difference. (restart photoshop after changing)
Also unchecking Open CL if enabled may help.

5. Re: Blur Gallery Failure
ageless1 May 25, 2012 9:07 PM (in response to R_Kelly)It's a brand new system running twin Nvidia GTX 590s. I have the updates setup to check for updates but not to install them automatically so I know there hasn't been an update to the video driver. Might be a windows update though, wouldn't be the first time one of those has caused me grief. I am currently downloading a clean copy of PS from the cloud and if I haven't got it sorted by the time it has finished downloading I will uninstall PS and try a fresh start. I will try the GPU settings in the prefs, that is something I haven't tried yet. Thanks a lot for your time it has been helpful. I will let you know what happens.

7. Re: Blur Gallery Failure
SG... May 25, 2012 10:05 PM (in response to ageless1)Hi,
Another quick check you can try is to bypass GPU use altogether and see if that changes the behavior.
1. Turn off OpenGL.
- Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Photoshop > Preferences (Mac OS).
- In the Performance panel, deselect Use Graphics Processor. Click OK.
- Restart Photoshop, and perform the same function.
There have been no updates to Ps core code. The CSXS Infrastructure 3.0.1 update has no bearing on what you're describing.
regards,
steve
