I filmed HD footage, and when I zoom in on it (medium shot to close up) in Premiere Pro, I lose a lot of video resolution and the picture is pixelized. I assumed that since the footage is HD, I would not have this problem. I would appreciate any advice on this matter or if someone could point me in a direction to help solve this problem.
If your hd footage is dropped in a hd sequence you will lose quality when zooming in.
If you drop your hd footage in a sd sequence then you have pixels to spare to make a zoom without losing quality.

Zooming into the action is something you do in the camera, not in post.
