I have a grid and I want to move items from 1 cell in the grid to another cell in the grid by using a smooth arc like motion. The grid is multiple columns but 1 row.
For example if the grid is 6 cells wide and I want to move the object from cell 2 into cell 5 I would like it to sort of move out of its cell and over and then into the new cell in a arc like motion rather than it just sliding across.
I was looking into to using tween but I don't really understand how to do this since the positions are always going to be the same.
I'm using Flash Pro 8.
Thanks for any help,
what kind of "arc"?
rather than have the object move left to right in a straight line it should move in sort of an arc. This can be done using a motion path but I don't know how to do it in code so the path is not always the same
Maybe you could use a quadratic function (like a parable) to set point by point the position of your object in an enterFrame
