I have a QT file Prores HQ with 2 tracks Dolby.
Why use QuiRcktime and why Prores? You are running a PC. Why not use the native format from the camera? If you use the native format you will be better off and probably avoid these problems.
The file is not created by me but by the customer.
Unfortunately is obliged.
I have no problems with the audio PCM or video but only with Dolby tracks.
Unfortunately once i imported the QT file the Dolby is not read correctly.
I've tried with a MXF file and Dolby E problem is the same.
Dolby E was a format designed to put 8 tracks of audio into one stereo AES data stream for recording on digibeta type machines. It also lets you use your existing AES routing for the distribution of multitrack sound. You need a Dolby E decoder to read this data stream, Premiere does not have this.
Dolby E is converted to AC3 files for transmission, AC3 files will play in Premiere.
I've e HW decoder for Dolby E.
My problem is that if I put the file in Premiere my hardware gives me error.
As if Premiere destroys Dolby E encoding
can i hear the file using Audition?
This is Steve with Minnetonka Audio Tech Support. We have had a long standing partnership with Abobe and I may have a solution for you. Our programming team is looking to have full VST support for the SurCode for Dolby E Decoder in Premiere Pro at some point in the near future. Currently our SurCode for Dolby E Streamplayer can be used in Adobe Audition to playback Dolby E encoded files. You can use Streamplayer in Audition to monitor, check for clicks and pops, verify frame rates in full dolby digital metadata and perform any other QC tasks pertaining to Dolby E encoded files. Streamplayer automatically decodes Dolby E and performs a real-time downmix to stereo using dolby e metadata parameters. Streamplayer retails at a mere $995 USD and functions as an ilok based license.
Streamplayer can be purchased via the Minnetonka Audio webstore http://www.minnetonkaaudioshop.com/epages/MASIShop.sf/en_US/?ObjectPath=/Shops/MASIShop/Pr oducts/SEPI/SubProducts/P-SEPI
There is also a fully-funtional demo version of the SurCode Streamplayer if you would like to test it on your platform.
If you have any questions pertaing to the SurCode for Dolby E Streamplayer feel free to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
