Which Adobe product are you trying to utilize?  What operating system are you using?

  Old fart here. I'm not good with the lingo referring to computer operation.

Adobe product. =  adobe flash player version 11.2.202.235  and  64-bit firefox..    I go to my control menu but can't get any thing started.

Could you please explain what exactly you are doing? Are you trying to access cam or capturing a picture?

If you wish to see whether the camera of your computer works, please click on the following link: http://www.testmycam.com/

You will see a small window as shown below. Click Allow. You should ideally see your preview.

If Sunil's instructions don't help, you could be running into a bug with 11.2.  Please give our 11.3 beta 3 version a try and let us know how it works.
