That shouldn't be happening.
Is it just on this document and not all, old or new documents? If it's just one document then try clearing corruptions - http://forums.adobe.com/message/3854248#3854248
If it's for all documents - old and new - reseting your preferences - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990?start=0&tstart=0
Thanks for the reply Eugene. To answer your first question. It happens in any document. I first noticed it in the one i was working on then i created a few dummy docs with 2 pages and tried shifting elements around and as soon as the copied object hits the top of the second pasteboard the dupliate mouse curser disappears. I have tried the reseting of preferences as mentioned (both short cut and manual) in that link you posted but that didnt seem to work either?
My colleagues dont seem to have the issue so am presuming that it is a reinstall?
Before re-installing try trashing the prefs -- second link in Eugene's post.
Thanks for the reply Peter however i have tried that. Both the quick and easy 'ctrl+alt+shift" version and the renaming of the default prefs. however in the link it didnt mention which files i needed to delete. Should i trash all the files and folders that are in the C:\Users\<USER>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\InDesign\<Version #>\<Language> folder? cheers
however in the link it didnt mention which files i needed to delete.
"My preferred method is to CLOSE INDESIGN and do a “manual” prefs replacement, which consists of finding and renaming the two files which make up the preference set: InDesign Defaults and InDesign SavedData."
The two files are "Indesign Defaults" and InDesign SavedData." If you follow the paths given you sheoould see them....
Thanks Peter however this also didnt work.
I think it is going to have to be a resinstall. As i find that i cant 'alt' click a image and get it to open in it's default program and once Ilustrator is open I cant double click to open the files so looks to be more than a few clitches. reinstall time i think.
