Highlight all text, check the Hyphenation button.
Are you using more styles than just Basic Paragraph?
Is hyphenation off defined within styles?
Are there overides shown to the Styles if you select text within a story?
I've checked and checked and checked with the text selected.
And yes, I am using paragraph styles and have a style created that has no hyphenation and even with the style applied and no overrides, it still hyphenates.
I have been fooling around with this all afternoon. I have experimented with making new paragraphs, using no paragraph styles, but selecting the text and designating no hyphenation, then trying hyphenation and back again.
I tried turning on hyphenation and telling it to not hyphenate capitalized words, and it does so anyway. I tried setting the hyphenation limit to 0, and it still hyphenates. I play with resizing the text boxes and watch as it hyphenates and unhyphenates when the box is wider. But when i try to make the text box the needed size, InDesign hyphenates even when hyphenation is turned off.
Check you language preference. IRRC, an unknown language can mess up ID's hyphenation.
I'm using English.
And just now, i tried to package the document and it won't let me package the linked files. That's a first!
