I can't figure out how to do this and have tried looking through the manual, online resources, etc....but I want to design a newspaper that will have multiple pages, and would like to fit a few articles per page and continue them on the following pages. This is will be for a printed copy. It seems I need text anchors but don't know where to begin. Any help?
The term for waht you need is "Threaded" text frames, where the story flows from one frame to the next. Threaded frames can be on the same page or different pages, but must be in the same document. You can read about threading text in the help files, or get a good beginner book like Sandee Cohen's Visual QuickStart Gide to InDesign.
For jump lines you will want to add additional frames that touch the threaded frames, and in those new frames you will add whatever jump text you want along with a Next Page Marker or Previous Page Marker special character. Current Page Marker characters report the number of the page on which they appear, but next and previous markers, when in a frame that touches a threaded frame, report the page on which the next or previous frame, respectively, in the current thread, is located.
