How do I get downloaded flash player to work?

Generally, you get it to work by running the install application. Obviously, that is not working for you. Please tell us your OS, what version you are trying to install and what if any error messages are reported.

I have an Imac v10.6.8 and cannot seem to load free version of Adobe Flash Player. The download macro comes on and all seems to be working except nothing appears on desktop, so can't save.  When I wish to view something sent to me, I get the message that I "need to d/load Flash Player"...I thought  already had!  Can you help? Ron Stewart

Windows 7  Trying to install Flash player 11 message say's d/load is complete but i can't view I get the same message that R.S. gets (d/load flash player to view this message)
