PNG images blurry at 300dpi and High Quality Display Performance

Ok so I'm working on my friend's resume. She's a social media manager and we want to add social media icons to her header.

When I place the images (that are 300dpi and 32px) the image shows up really small and is very pixelated. I try to resize them and fit content to the frame only for the image to be really distorted and unrecognizable. The image displays at 300 actual dpi but the effective ppi is 101.

Is there something that I should do in Photoshop before placing the image or a setting or something that I'm missing in InDesign?

I've read quite a few discussions and questions about this but I can't seem to find a correct answer for my problem.

      Thanks in advance guys
