1. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
coolvideo12 Jun 1, 2012 3:07 AM (in response to AtlantaVideo)Hi Atlanta video,
I want to ask few questions to understand the issue.
1. Are you able to burn same project sucessfully even once ?
2. Can you attach motion menu that is crashing while rendering ?
3. Is this crash consistent ?
4. Is this crash happens with only specific size motion menu (1920x1080 , 1440 x1080) ?
Also please attach crash dump .
If you are on Mac you will get crash data ,if you are on windows please follow the instructions to copy the crash dump:
"when the crash occurs and windows error reporting throws the dialog ‘windows is collecting information’ , let it run as its creating the dumps etc and then when the ‘send error report’ dialog comes, it shows path to 3 files if you enlarge the dialog with ‘view details’.
Two of those are general app info files, third is a actual dump file (with extension .mdmp). While this dialog is open we can copy the .mdmp from the temp location"
This information will help in isolating the issue.
Thanks
Minu

Bill Hunt Jun 1, 2012 1:53 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)In addition to the info that Minu has asked for, can you give us the full specs. of the AV file, that you are using as a Motion Menu background?
Thanks, and good luck,
Hunt

3. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 1, 2012 4:35 PM (in response to coolvideo12)Hi and thanks for the replies!
1) Yes it did burn once! The project had a small typo in the Premier file so it had to be run again after the correction and hence the problems started.
There are two menu's in this project. The sub-menu renders fine as I can see the motions menus when I preview.
2) How do I attach the motion menu, as this forum only allows image files and videos?
3) Yes, it is consistent but happens at different time periods into the rendering process.
4) Since this is a Blue-ray project, the menu is based on one of your standard DH wedding menus. "Sky" to be precise, but I enlarged the motion menu buttons to make it look better.
5) I re-ran the process to get you the dump file, however, when it crashed it only gave the dialog box for "check online for solution and close the project". It did not give the option to "send report' etc and hence no dump.
I did find two ".mdmp" files on my "c:" drive. Again, how to I attach those here?
BILL, what exactly do you mean? The source video was created in Premier as a H.264 Blue-ray file, the menu's used are standard encore menu's from the wedding library, with minor modifications!

Stan Jones Jun 1, 2012 5:35 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)There are two menu's in this project. The sub-menu renders fine as I can see the motions menus when I preview.
I enlarged the motion menu buttons to make it look better.I think we assumed the motion menu has a background motion video/sound. I now think you are using thumbnail buttons, right?
You are correct that you cannot attach a file to a post; send it attached as a private message (click on Minu's icon) or set it up to be downloaded from a separate site.

5. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 1, 2012 9:08 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Sorry,
Yes it uses thumbnail motion bottons.
I will send the dump to Minu, thanks!

AtlantaVideo Jun 2, 2012 4:29 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Stan, even private messages only allow images or movie!

7. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
Stan Jones Jun 2, 2012 7:49 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)Sorry; you are of course correct. You can ask for an email to send it to as an attachment.

I also just posted another encore problem,

10. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 3, 2012 8:27 AM (in response to NeerajGupta)Neeraj, e-mail bounced back. I used cut and past and changed 'at' to '@' and 'dot' to '.' and removed all spaces. So I can only assume that you made an error in your own e-mail address.
What is the correct e-mail please?

11. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
Bill Hunt Jun 4, 2012 9:23 AM (in response to AtlantaVideo)Maybe it would be easier to PM (Personal Message) Neeraj. Just click on his Profile/avatar in his Reply, and on the right you will see some possible actions - choose Send Private Message.
That will allow you to communicate, without having to mung POP addresses (wise move in a public forum, like this). Then, you two can exchange e-mails, as PM's do not allow attachments (or did not).
Good luck,
Hunt
PS - many Adobe employees get so many PM's, that it might take a bit, to get a return. Also, check your Private Messages, in your Profile. That is the one thing, that I have e-mail notification turned ON for, but some days, I skip even checking my InBox.

12. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 4, 2012 10:30 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Bill,
I did exactly that yesterday and have since exchanged e-mail and FTP files with both Neeraj and Minu.
However, something just boggle the mind: Why provide a incorrect e-mail (the difference was tooo big to be just a typo error)? Why not instruct me to PM? Why help here, but if I call for the same issue, its all about the $.
I see a lot of dicussion about the library and template files. Were they running short of operating cash that they had to release a product without the libraries and templates as part of the install files?

13. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
Bill Hunt Jun 4, 2012 3:31 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)I cannot answer those questions - sorry.
At least you have made the necessary contacts, and when everything gets sorted out, please update the thread with the solution, as that might help others in future.
Good luck,
Hunt

14. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
Stan Jones Jun 4, 2012 8:45 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)There was a glitch in the email shorthand; since all adobe emails are @adobe.com, I interpreted it correctly.
No fault there; just unfortunate, and it got sorted.
The paid support comes from technical support; employees who voluntarily contribute to the forums are more likely to be involved in other aspects of the team. We'll take all the help they can give!
This whole functional content snafu is very frustrating to everyone, users and the Encore team also I am sure.

15. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 4, 2012 10:13 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Today after sending Minu & Neeraj the information they requested, I went back to my dealer to get 5.5 re-installed. While there, he also ran the update so now I have 6.0.1.13
So when I got home, I decided to try again, rendering just the menus. It worked. Preview looked great so I decided to make a Blu-ray. About 5 minutes into to the process I got the message:
"Blu-ray Error: "fatal error", Code: "6", Note: "Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 1.935267 seconds -
looking at the quotes, the message does not seem to be complete. I will search the forum for this error.
My second attempt I got the message:
Blu-ray Error: "device error", Code:"3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to Write M2S file.
Stan, while I absolutely appreciate the help I am receiving here (although it may not sound like it), I am in shock that a corporation would not assign employees to monitor and assist on it's product forums. Counting on employees to volunteer their time is customer no service!

17. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
chesterr_mizik Jun 5, 2012 4:37 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)Hi,
Please try the following :
Delete AuthorScriptHDMVSessions folder inside the project folder (the project folder is at the same location as .ncor project file).
Try to burn Blu ray again !
Good Luck
Chesterr

18. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 5, 2012 6:09 PM (in response to chesterr_mizik)Chesterr,
The AuthorScriptHDMVSessions folder could only be found in the C drive where my CS5.1 encore project is,
I could not find such a folder on my E drive, where my CS6 encore project files reside.
I have changed the name of the c drive folder and re-attempt the cs6 blu-ray burn.

19. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 5, 2012 6:52 PM (in response to chesterr_mizik)Chesterr, I got the same error message. Thanks for trying!
by the way, I tried both ways, CS6 & 5.1
The old renamed folder has 5 files, the new folder that just got created has nothing.

20. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
Stan Jones Jun 5, 2012 7:55 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)The AuthorScriptHDMVSessions folder could only be found in the C drive where my CS5.1 encore project is,
This folder is created when the project is built. This suggests that it built only in the 5.1 version?

21. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 5, 2012 8:42 PM (in response to Stan Jones)So does that mean that 6.0 does not need it or that 6.0 is not working properly?
I also decided to make an image and again I get the exact same error!
-
22. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 5, 2012 8:50 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)CS5.1 will no longer open the project.
I am going to delete the new file AuthorScriptHDMVSessions , and rename the old one back to this. And keep my fingers crossed.

23. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 5, 2012 9:10 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)The old folders were two, One in my documents\project name and the other in appData\Local\Temp
When these were renamed and the project opened, it only created one folder with the same name and the project did not open again.
I have no Idea if this is significant or not!
I have no Idea what to do to complete this project. I am sure my blood plessure spikes everytime I try something new and it still fails!
Should I go back to premier and make a low resolution video?

24. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
coolvideo12 Jun 5, 2012 11:36 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)Hi ,
Its good that crash is resolved after upgrading to CS6 .
For other two errors i have suggested some workarounds in another thread .
Please try out.
Appreciate your patience .
Thanks

25. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 12, 2012 9:53 PM (in response to coolvideo12)As suggested in another thread, I tried changing the bit rate, which changed the project size from 23 GB to 23 MB.
I tried to burn the project anyway, and with just 13 seconds left (after burning for three or more hours) I got the error:
Blu-ray Error: "device error", code: "3", Note: "CreateStcSequence: Fail to write M2S file."

26. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
ram8kumar Jun 12, 2012 10:45 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)As I mentioned in another thread, try creating a new project from scratch. and try switching on and off your Blu-ray burner.

27. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
AtlantaVideo Jun 12, 2012 11:26 PM (in response to ram8kumar)Ramesh, turning the computer off and on accomplished the off and on for the Blu-ray burner. I have done this numerious times over the past three of four weeks. Do I need to completely un-plug the computer from the wall?
I am working on deleting all the project files to start over again. It does make sence since the upgrade to 6.01 did fix one problem and I am still working with stuff created in 6.0.
-
28. Re: Encore CS6 Crashes during rendering of motion menus
ram8kumar Jun 12, 2012 11:35 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)I was only talking about the Blu-ray burner in case you had an external burner.

I forgot to respond to this in another thread.
You do not need to delete any files. Just create a new project in Encore with a new name.

Yes I am aware of this, but just wanted to free up some space. Multiple files for the same projects can also become confusing
