Hi, at the moment i occasionally edit using a laptop with CS 6.
Im using Asus N43SL VX 211 D which have following specs:
Intel Core i7 2670QM 2.2GHz Turbo Boost 3.1GHz
14.0" 16:9 HD (1366x768) LED Backlight
nVIDIA GeForce GT540M-2GB (cuda accelerated)
640GB 5400rpm < upgraded to 1TB 7200rpm (located in optical drive bay using Hard Drive Caddy)
Ram 4gb (upgraded to 8gb)
120GB SSD (for win 7 OS)
it will be nicer if it's a bigger screen, but for price/performance thats the best i could get
Price: around US$ 840 April 2012.
PS: they also have another model which come with 750GB 7200RPM
I'm looking at getting a Lenovo W530 when they are released this Tuesday. I haven't been able to find a more portable 15-inch laptop with an accurate 1080p screen, good battery life, and good quad-core performance.
They're also great machines from what I hear and the benchmark results link posted before me will back me up on that (the benchmarks list the W520 which is the Sandy Bridge variant)
...check out 17.3" Asus onsale at TDirect for fathers day at around $1,500...has 16GB memory....750 GB hdd NVidia 670M.....put 2 SATA III SSDs in it for max performance.....use 750 in USB3 dock as third drive
this is good system.. yeah, the larger the screen the better.. and full hd screen is the best
