If that is not enabled try to uninstall it from control panel and it will prompt to deactivate it. I am suspicious if Acrobat X didn't uninstall/corrupted the older version.
If nothing works, go ahead and simply install it on the other machine. You can always install signle licensed products on 2 different machines provided you do not use them simultaneouly. Should you get any activation error, contact Adobe Customer Care at http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/
