    Double installation

    JWH-NIRC Community Member

I have just purchased a CS6 suite that has Acrobat X included in it. If  I use the version in the suite, do I need to deactivate AND uninstall the older version?

Since I want  move the existing Acrobat to a different computer, I am just wondering if simple deactivation is enough.

If you are planning to move it to another computer, do deactivate it as your first step. AA X allows past versions to be on the machine, so you should uninstall it also before you install AA X.

If you are still able to launch the older version of Adobe Acrobat you can deactivate it from help menu. If that is not enabled try to uninstall it from control panel and it will prompt to deactivate it. I am suspicious if Acrobat X didn't uninstall/corrupted the older version.

If nothing works, go ahead and simply install it on the other machine. You can always install signle licensed products on 2 different machines provided you do not use them simultaneouly. Should you get any activation error, contact Adobe Customer Care at http://helpx.adobe.com/contact/
