Currently I am getting what looks like inconsistent behavior
from validators when used on a combobx. I have been following what
seems to be regarded as best practice for validatinng my combobxes,
using a number validator and setting minValue=0 and having the
selected index of the combobox set to -1. Unfortunately this has
the effect of causing the combobox to be invalid immediately and
show the error message before the user has even had a chance to
enter a value. Also the red highlight around the combobox not
generally shown like it is around inputtext fields.
Can anyone shed some light on these two issues? Most
importantly is there some other way to validate a combobox that
only causes the validation to go off after a user has given the
combobox focus and then not entered a valid value?
