bootsuk Jun 5, 2012 6:16 AM (in response to Rodieck)Well well it's a good job someone knows what is happening. I have just spent an hour on the phone talking to "Adobe India" (tech help) who told me it was my fault that A: my anti virus was stopping the online connection (which was shut off) and B: it was the fault of my ISP for blocking the connection. (which it's not).
I'm furious thast after spending a lot of time and money on multiple products that do not function correctly I have to talk to somone in India that has not got a clue and is only interested in my giving them a good mark for how polite they are.

The PDF file is in the works, and the link will be posted on this page as soon as it becomes available: http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator.html.
You've probably seen the online Help already, but here it is for those who haven't: http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/illustrator/topics.html.

5. Re: AI CS6 Help Files
bootsuk Jun 5, 2012 12:55 PM (in response to Ivan David)Thanks for that Ivan David.
Adobe tech told me that the error messages "failed to launch client" and another that said I'm not connected to the internet were my fault and got me to ping the adobe site which produced a failure message. (all within Production Premium) Even though I can connect via the web within the same program (Photoshop in this case) when I click on registrer etc. All programs act in a simular way. With regard to the help content.
Regards
Brian
Still very annoyed with Adobe Tech.

Ivan David Jun 29, 2012 5:51 AM (in response to Rodieck)Hello!
Just thought I'd update this thread with the location of the offline help (PDF): http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator.html. Click the CS6 Help PDF link on this page.
If you prefer saving the PDF document, right-click the CS6 Help PDF link, and select the Save link as or Save target as option.
Cheers,

8. Re: AI CS6 Help Files
Ted King Jul 2, 2012 10:41 AM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)It is reassuring to find that Adobe is finding the same difficulty that I am in managing multi-platform publishing. The pdf user's guide illustrates the advantages a conventional book format over a simple collection of web pages.
The pdf "Help and tutorials" document linked in Todd's email features no page numbering (or page headers/footers), no table of contents, no index, no logical break between "What's New" and the actual user's guide.
The "What's New" material for CS5 is still there which tells us that Adobe didn't actually revise the document from CS5 but just scabbed the CS6 "What's New" copy to the beginning. Among the many formatting issues with this document are topic headings that appear at the foot of one page with associated copy starting on the next page, tables and illustration appear with borders cut off (or simply don't fit within the space available).
After having waited so long for a user's guide it is very disappointing to find such a sloppy document. Let's hope this is only temporary intended to satisfy the self-imposed June publication date. Even the link in Todd's post suggests slipshod attention to detail "blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2010/08/help-documents-for- creative-suite-5-pdf-and-html.html". August of 2010??? Creative Suite 5???
