1. Re: CS6, standard motion menu loops to black
Stan Jones Jun 3, 2012 6:27 AM (in response to AtlantaVideo)The "replaced" file is an asset for a timeline, or the menu motion?
Any changes at all to the menu or menu motion assets (video or audio)?
Did you replace by using "replace asset" from within Encore and did you have the replaced asset named differently than the original? (Should not create the problem you describe if this was a timeline.)

2. Re: CS6, standard motion menu loops to black
AtlantaVideo Jun 3, 2012 8:43 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Replaced for timeline.
No changes to the motion menu assets.
I replaced the asset using a different name, which ment I lost all my chapter points and had to recreate them.
I have done this numerous times with CS5 and CS5.5 without problems!

Stan Jones Jun 3, 2012 9:35 AM (in response to AtlantaVideo)Trash the cache?
Obviously, the replace should not have any effect on the menu issue.
You don't have a back up of the whole thing so you can go back and try it in CS5.5, right?

8. Re: CS6, standard motion menu loops to black
shuchi shrivastava Jun 12, 2012 10:54 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)I think replace asset is causing the problem . You can do one thing - go to your motion menu remove the video linked to it as the background. Now delete the motion menu video file which you have replaced and now re-import it as asset into the project. Now re-link it to the motion menu as the video background and now preview. It will not loop to black frame.

shuchi shrivastava Jun 12, 2012 11:02 PM (in response to shuchi shrivastava)Read your second post now.You replace the asset for timeline and not the motion menu so it may not solve your problem. But if replace asset is the problem then reimporting and re-linking the asset might work.

10. Re: CS6, standard motion menu loops to black
ram8kumar Jun 12, 2012 11:02 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)In your first post you said, it was an MPEG 2 file and you are using CS6. Then one possibility might be that the duration of the file changed after indexing (This runs in background and you can see the progress bar for this at the bottom in the Progress Panel) of the file.
Did you receive any dialog box warning about the duration of the asset?
If yes, then the black frames are the extra duration that was originally noted.
You might want to see the duration of your motion menu if it is the intended duration i.e the actual duration of the MPEG 2 asset. If not, change the duration to the desired one and then try.

11. Re: CS6, standard motion menu loops to black
AtlantaVideo Jun 12, 2012 11:20 PM (in response to ram8kumar)Great, thank you both for your replies.
The motion menu is not created by me but one of your standard menu's included in the library. All I did was import the video and audio, create thumbnail buttons and linked to chapter points (non motion buttons).
Also when I replaced the asset, I did not use the "replace Asset option". I essentially did it the old school way (dumb way) by importing the new video asset only (not the Audio) with a new name. The change made to the Ppro project was just text. I then deleted the old asset, recreated my chapter points and relinked to the buttons.
Again, this problem never happened in CS5.1, only now in CS6.

13. Re: CS6, standard motion menu loops to black
Stan Jones Jun 13, 2012 1:57 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)I would do over.
Add the template menu and motion menu asset. Loop okay?
Then add the video and timeline. Link from only one button; no thumbnails. Loop okay?
Then add the thumbnails and see what happens.
FYI, when you say you added thumbnail buttons, I would add one of the template menus with thumbnails and modify that.
This is partly testing, and you could try to remove options in your current menu. But your current project may be corrupt, so I'd go for the do over.

AtlantaVideo Jun 14, 2012 12:12 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Stan, As I just posted in my other thread, this same thing is happening with my current project where I only have motion thumb nail buttons.

15. Re: CS6, standard motion menu loops to black
Adam Carrel Apr 19, 2014 1:25 PM (in response to AtlantaVideo)I have been having similar problems with getting a black flash at the end of the menu. I had some luck by changing the duration of the menu in the 'Motion' tab. I took two frames off it and it did the job.
