Edit > Preferences > Documents > Back up documents automatically.
I guess that means that I can't retreive what I lost (not so important) but that now that I ticked that option I will be able to do so in the future (Very important)
BTW OTT Finished your book on Greps some time back, It came in INCREDIBLY helpful. Just got the book from the printer today in which I used the greps to help me a lot with checking and changing. Also using grep styles is a real pleasure.
If you didn't have backup enabled before, then you've lost what you were working on. With backup enabled, the ESTK reloads whatever scripts you had open, saved and unsaved, next time you start it.

One of the reasons I originally switched to BBEdit for writing scripts was for file recovery.
BBEdit reopens files that were never saved and I have never lost work using BBEdit...
But for those of us who still use Windows, Peters suggestion is more practical
