I can log onto my adobe account fine on the website but when I go to click on 'my information' to change something it redirects me to a 404 error page. I have tried IE and chrome but no luck. Issue first arrose when I tried to authorise my new e-reader with ADE on R4PC, it just keeps asking me for my account information which I know to be correct as I can log on on the website.

I think you may misunderstand a couple of things.....

Digital Editions is installed stand-alone onto your computer. You can't

affect anything about ADE by logging onto the Adobe website. That's not

where you 'authorise' an ereader.

The 'authorisation' process starts with logging onto the ereader's home

website (SONY, B&N, KOBO, etc.) depending on the instructions that came

with it. You should have the ereader connected to your computer, and

recognized by it, so that the website can write a small ID file to the

ereader when you register it. The website and the ereader will show you

status screens that will tell you when that's done. You can disconnect

from the website, and then 'eject' the ereader from your computer using the

appropriate utility on your computer. That will complete the process, and

the ereader is ready to use.

Once the ereader has received its ID file from the home website, ADE on

your computer will be able to 'see' it, and show it in the bookshelf pane

in Library view (the left hand side). At that point, you're ready to

transfer ebooks to and from it by dragging and dropping them.

Hope this helps!

Sorry if I wasn't clear, I wasn't trying to edit anything related to authorisation on the adobe website. I have just discovered - while trying to investigate why ADE wouldn't authorise my e-reader- that my adobe account seems to be broken and thought that maybe the two problems are related? To be clear I have ADE installed and my computer authorised I got an additional e-reader that required a newer version of the sony library software. I installed it and the "please enter your adobe account information" dialog pop-ed up but won't do anything, doesn't say wrong information just reopens on clicking confirm.

If I understand you correctly this time, you installed a newer version of

the SONY library software - on your computer.

SONY Reader Library software does have to be installed on your computer in

order for the ereader to work, but that's between the ereader and the

Reader Library software. That part doesn't involve ADE. So.....

I'd contact SONY tech support and see what they can tell you.
