    Indesign not installing correctly

    WacoPhotog

Hi, I need help with installing my Indesign CS5.5. I have Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom v3.3 installed already. The machine runs Windows 7 x64 with 8GB RAM on a Core i5 CPU.

I tried rebooting and running as administrator to no avail. There is no antivirus installed that could block anything from installing.

      Here is the log:

      Exit Code: 6

Just a guess, but is your InDesign installer an upgrade version?

Yes, it is an upgrade.. Strangely enough, it did not ask me for my previous serial number during installation.

            Any ideas for a solution?

Doesn't look like if found a qualifying product. Is the prefious edition installed? Are you sure you bought the right upgrade product? Suites can only upgrade to suites, point products can updat to the same point product or to a suite, but you need to purchase the correct one.

You may want to run the cleaner tool to be sure there's no detritus left from the failed attempt, then try again: CS Cleaner Tool for installation problems | CCM, CS6, CS5.5, CS5, CS4, CS3

I am trying to install it on my laptop. I have the same configuration on my PC, but it didn't give me any issues there. The only thing that I can think of is that at one point I had a trial of version 5 installed on my laptop, but I uninstalled that after the trial ran out and I got my 5.5 upgrade (I have CS4 already, just not installed on my laptop. I guess I can uninstall all my adobe products, run the cleanup and start with InDesign first, then Photoshop and then Lightroom (which seems to be the least sensitive).

Ok, so I removed all Adobe products, ran the cleanup tool, rebooted and fist installed my CS4, which went fine, then ran the upgrade to CS5.5.... Still errors, but less:

It's the same 2 fatal errors, though. Not sure what to tell you. The first error is saying the linguistics package is already extracted and can't be overwritten, the second is an error trying to install Bridge, and I don't know what error code 0 means. This is the sort of thing that up until May would have been eligible for free installation support from Adobe, but I'm not sure about now.

We would like to know you are installing the software from the DVD or its a downloaded version ?

Secondly , When you go to 'C:\Windows\Fonts\" folder , do you have AdobeMingStd-Light.otf and ChaparralPro-BoldIt.otf file or folder present.?

I removed the two fonts and cleaned the AdobeTemp folder but no go.. still errors out. It is a download version.

I copied the installation files from my original download folder on my PC again to my laptop and tried the install again. It seems that the installation folder on the laptop had gotten corrupted. I was able to install after I copied the files again.

                          Thanks for the help!
