Do you mean the ligatures are being substituted in the prints, or on screen? If the problem is in printing, that's symptomatic of not including fonts when downloading the file to the printer. On the Graphics tab of the print dialog make sure you are set to download a subset or All, and that the Download PPD fonts box is checked.
I am happy to discuss with you about this topic. The ligatures are being substituted in the source of inDesign application file, corresponding PDF on screen and Print.
For the temporary solution i have restart the system at each 8 hours onetime.
I would start by deleting all adobefnt**.list files where ** is a two-digit number.
What is the OS? Do you use a font manager?
We are using MAC OS 10.4, 10.5 & 10.6. and i have used application path font folder then occasionally only using "Extensis Suitcase X1.app". We have not installed repeated same type font and other type fonts.
And morever not only getting clear the issue to restart system, even quitting the application also the problem has solved. We have any permanent solution.
I'm always suspicious of Suitcase. I'm not a Mac user, but I was under the impression that CS5, at least, was not compatible with Suitcase X1.
I have learrned to preparing windows font list. Anyway very use-full your comments thank lot Mr. Peter.....
Let you know if you got any answers....
I would certainly switch to the opentype version of the font. It wouldn’t trust anything but that for ligatures.
