Create a 'template' project with the settings you want, then always start new projects with that.
Just save the template under the new project and it'll create something separate, right...
Probably good to go with that....but if anyone wants to give a heads up on any other methods, feel free.

I agree with Jim Simon. Creating your own template is a good workaround to what would be a good feature.
